Configure Alerts

Modified on Wed, 17 Jun at 11:51 PM

The Alerts section helps you proactively monitor notification delivery performance across communication channels.

Alerts are triggered when the failure rate for a channel exceeds a predefined threshold, ensuring your team is informed of potential delivery issues before they impact customer experience.

Accessing Configure Alerts

  1. Navigate to the Smart Communications homepage.
  2. Click Admin Tools in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Alerts from the dropdown menu.

Setting Up Alerts

The Configure Alerts page allows you to define:

  • Recipients who should receive alert notifications.
  • Channel-specific failure thresholds.
  • Alert frequency for each channel.

Add Alert Recipients

Enter the email addresses of users who should receive delivery failure alerts.

  1. Click the Recipient Email IDs field.
  2. Enter an email address and press Enter.
  3. Repeat to add multiple recipients.
  4. To remove a recipient, click the × icon next to the email address.

Note: You can add both internal team members and external stakeholders as alert recipients.

Configure Channel Thresholds

Alerts can be configured independently for the following channels:

  • WhatsApp
  • SMS
  • Email
  • Marketing Tools

For each channel, you can define:

SettingDescription
Channel ToggleEnable or disable alerts for the channel
Threshold (%)Failure percentage that triggers an alert
FrequencyHow often alerts are sent (Hourly, Daily, or Weekly)

Set Threshold and Frequency

  1. Enable alerting for the required channel using the toggle.
  2. Set the failure threshold percentage.
  3. Select the alert frequency:
    • Hourly
    • Daily
    • Weekly

Example:

If WhatsApp alerts are configured with a 5% threshold and Daily frequency, an email notification will be sent if the WhatsApp delivery failure rate exceeds 5% during the daily monitoring period.

Saving Your Configuration

Once recipients, thresholds, and frequencies have been configured, save your changes.

Smart Communications will immediately begin monitoring delivery performance and automatically notify the configured recipients whenever the defined threshold is breached within the selected frequency window.
