Configure Settings

The Configure Settings section allows you to manage the notification capabilities available within Smart Communications. From here, you can control:

  • Which notification event packages are enabled for your account.
  • Which routing parameters are available when building communication journeys.

The page is divided into two tabs: Packages and Parameters.


Accessing Configure Settings

  1. Navigate to the Smart Communications homepage from Settings >> Notifications 
  2. Click Admin Tools in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Configure Settings from the dropdown menu.

Packages

Packages are groups of related notification events. Enabling a package makes its events available for use when creating communication journeys.


Your account includes 12 standard packages at no additional cost.

To view all events included within a package, click View More Events on the respective package card.


Enabling or Disabling a Package

  1. Navigate to the Packages tab.
  2. Use the toggle on a package card to enable or disable it.
  3. When disabling a package, a confirmation dialog will appear.
  4. Click Yes, Disable to confirm.
  5. A success message will be displayed once the change is applied.

Note: Disabling a package may impact existing journeys that use events from that package. We recommend reviewing active journeys before making any changes.


Premium Packages

Premium packages provide access to advanced communication use cases and are available as part of a premium plan.

Examples include:

  • Customer Engagement
    • Post Delivery Survey Notification
    • Post Delivery Survey Reminder
  • Delivery Breaches
    • Delivered After Committed SLA
    • Delivered Before Committed SLA

Parameters

Parameters help define when and for whom notifications should be triggered. They can be used to create more targeted and personalized communication journeys.


When enabled, a parameter becomes available as a routing condition while configuring journey steps.


To view all values supported by a parameter, click View More Events on the corresponding parameter card.

Managing Parameters

  1. Navigate to the Parameters tab.
  2. Use the toggle next to a parameter to enable or disable it.
  3. Changes are applied immediately and will be available while configuring journeys.

Standard Parameters

The following parameters are available by default:

  • Movement Type (Forward, Reverse)
  • Language (English, Arabic, and other supported languages)
  • COD / Prepaid
  • Courier Account (e.g., Delhivery, Blue Dart)
  • User Persona

Premium Parameters

Advanced routing parameters available under premium plans include:

  • Customer Type
  • Region
  • SKU-Based Routing


These parameters allow for more granular communication journeys and enhanced personalization.
