“Tracking Number Not Allocated” Error While Order Generation via Unicommere

Modified on Thu, 9 Apr at 10:53 AM

For seamless order processing via Unicommerce (Pre-Dispatch integration), it is important to ensure that each shipment request sent to ClickPost has a unique reference identifier.

In certain scenarios, Unicommerce may generate orders using the same series of shipment IDs. Since ClickPost derives the Reference Number from these identifiers, the reuse of shipment IDs can lead to duplication conflicts during order processing.

This may result in an error "Tracking Number Not Allocated" where the system detects that the tracking number (or reference number) has already been used for a previous shipment.

Recommended Approach

To ensure uniqueness and avoid such conflicts, we recommend using a composite reference number:

  • Preferred Format: order_id + shipment_id

This ensures that each shipment request remains unique, even if shipment IDs are reused at the source.

How to Resolve This

To implement this configuration:

  • Please reach out to ClickPost Support
  • Request enabling of the configuration where the Reference Number is derived using order_id + shipment_id

Once enabled, this will prevent duplication issues and ensure smooth order processing.
