Why am I getting a “Pincode Not Serviceable” error in OC even after uploading the pincode?

If the pincode has been successfully uploaded but you are still encountering a “Pincode Not Serviceable” error, it is important to understand how serviceability works:

  • The serviceability file (uploaded or auto-fetched) is used only for recommendation purposes. It helps the system suggest and allocate the most relevant carrier for a shipment.
  • In this case, since the carrier is being correctly recommended and allocated, the uploaded serviceability data is functioning as expected.
  • The error is occurring at the manifestation (Order Creation) stage, which indicates that the carrier is rejecting the shipment at their end.

What does this mean?
This typically points to a discrepancy between the serviceability data used for recommendation and the carrier’s real-time serviceability validation.

Next Steps:

  • The carrier partner needs to validate and confirm why the “Pincode Not Serviceable” error is being triggered from their system.
  • If you are using manual serviceability upload, ensure that the latest serviceability file from the carrier has been uploaded correctly.
  • If auto-fetch is enabled, please check with the courier partner whether the bulk serviceability API response being shared is accurate and up to date.
